Primer is not about time travel accidents. It is about people exploiting time quietly.

Two engineers invent a machine that allows them to travel back a few hours. Instead of stopping disasters, they begin manipulating outcomes for personal gain. As they use the machine repeatedly, timelines split, overlap, and corrupt each other.

By the end, multiple versions of the same people exist, lying to each other across time. The film never shows the full timeline because confusion is the point. Knowledge becomes power, and power destroys trust.
